Music       Level 3 Enquiries: Mrs A Price
Prerequisites

It is expected that students will have completed a Year 11 and 12 NCEA music course and be learning an instrument or voice. Students will need to consult with Mrs Price as to which Achievement Standards or Units Standards would be appropriate for them. It is a requirement that Level 3 students take a lead in school musical activities such as Jazz group, Harmony Group, Rockquest, Musical.

Course Information
This course allows students to structure their musical interests around chosen Achievement Standards and Unit Standards. There are two main Achievement Standard strands – Practical Music and Music Studies. The Achievement Standards are based on the National Certificate of Education Achievement (NCEA).

Why this course?
Music allows students to communicate and be creative. This course opens up opportunities for students to pick and choose according to skill level and interest. It provides an excellent foundation for tertiary courses at both polytechnics and universities. Opportunities for performance and recording of compositions are also included.
