Course Information

This course builds on topics introduced at Level Two, with the additional entities to be studied being Partnerships and Companies

(a) Conceptual Basis of Accounting
(b) Processing and Reporting Financial Information for Partnerships and Companies
(c) Manufacturing accounts and Job Costing
(d) Analysing and interpreting company annual reports
(e) Budgeting and Cash Flow analysis, for decision making

There will be a revision book available toward the end of Term 3. Approx cost $18.00

Maximum Credits Available 24  
This NCEA Level Three course contributes 24 credits toward the Level Three NCEA qualification. The five achievement standards are gained through an external exam at the end of the year, There is an opportunity for diligent and motivated students to gain a further 5 credits through completing a major project internally. This project is optional* and will take a full term to complete.
Why this course?
Year 13 Accounting is a useful basis for many areas of tertiary study including Commerce, Marketing, Personnel Management, Industrial Relations, Business Administration and Tourism. This course is also available as a Stage 1 University course.
