Course Information

The aim of this course is to explore advanced concepts and procedures used in Food Technology.

In Level 2 Food Technology you will study a range of concepts and procedures and look at their implementation in real life situations. Topics taught are likely to include:

  • Ingredient characteristics and how it allows products to function
  • Advanced preservation, packaging and storage of food items
  • Advanced concepts used in the processing of products in a commercial environment
  • Socio-cultural factors and the considerations in Food Technology
  • Advanced procedures used to make a specific product
Why Study Food Technology?

Food Technology allows you to work creatively and analytically to identify, trial and evaluate potential solutions, and eventually put your ideas into practice. Level 2 Food Technology Assessment

This course aims to offer a programme of study covering both theoretical and practical components of Food Technology. The course provides the opportunity to gain 20 credits at level 2.
